About the Journal
The Eastern Africa Journal of Policy and Strategy aims to create a scholarly forum for exploring policy formulation and strategic decision-making in Eastern Africa and beyond. This journal addresses the need for a specialized platform to discuss the complex socio-economic, political, and cultural challenges in the region, promoting innovative and context-based solutions.
The journal's objective is to foster interdisciplinary discourse that supports evidence-based policymaking and critical analysis of strategic choices. It aligns with the research themes of the Global Centre for Policy and Strategy (GLOCEPS), focusing on security and defence, foreign policy, transnational organized crimes, development, and governance and ethics.
Journal Scope
A key criterion for including selected papers in a journal edition shall be guided by The Global Centre for Policy and Strategy (GLOCEPS) vision and mission.
The papers, as well as any Special Issue of the Journal, will need to reect the research themes of the Centre, focusing on security and defence, foreign policy, transnational organized crimes, development, and governance and ethics.
Paper Submission
Papers submitted for the journal shall be between 3,000 to 8,000 words including notes and references.
The suggested submission format is a Microsoft Word document, Times New Roman Font size 12, Double Spacing, Normal Margin with the APA 7th edition citation style.
Copyright Information
By submitting texts for publication, the author shall be declaring that materials submitted to the journal such as briefing papers, book reviews, film reviews or journal articles are original and have not been submitted elsewhere. In the case of republished materials, the author has the responsibility to seek the consent of the prior publishers before submission.
Peer Review
The journal shall operate a double-blind peer review mechanism. The review process is expected to be completed between 6 and 8 weeks (one week for Special Issues).
Journal Frequency
The journal will have 2 issues in a year, that is March - April and November - December of each year. Accepted papers may be published in upcoming issues or special issues.
